CBSA memorandum allows up to 12 months for visitors’ vehicles, but Transport Canada also states the vehicle may not remain longer than the limit on the visitor’s visa, work permit or other customs document. In practice, the allowed stay is capped by the person’s own authorized stay, up to a maximum of 12 months per temporary import.
Vehicles may be admitted into Canada ... when used exclusively by a person entering Canada as a visitor for a period not exceeding 12 months...
