For a foreign tourist’s private vehicle, the temporary import period is the same as the tourist’s authorized stay in Brazil, but Receita Federal allows extensions of the vehicle’s regime up to a total of 2 years when the tourist is temporarily absent from Brazil; there is no separate shorter limit by vehicle type.
