Temporary vehicle import to Denmark
A visa and a vehicle are different law: the person and the car are given their terms by different authorities, and those terms need not match.
- Maximum term
- 180
- How the term is counted
- per entry
- Carnet de Passages
- Not required
- Extension
- Possible
This 185-day rule is for non-registered persons staying in Denmark less than 185 days within a 12-month period. It is not a separate carnet-based temporary import limit; for a tourist, the allowance is effectively tied to the visitor’s permitted stay and registration/tax rules.
Article 217 of Delegated Regulation (EU) 2015/2446: for road means of transport for private use — 6 months; the time-limits run "from the time the goods are placed under the procedure" (i.e. counted from each placement under the procedure, not a rolling window).
