Temporary vehicle import to Oman
A visa and a vehicle are different law: the person and the car are given their terms by different authorities, and those terms need not match.

- Extension
- Possible
Tourist private vehicles: 6 months (≈180 days) if using a Carnet de Passages en Douane; 3 months (≈90 days), extendable once for another 3 months against a security deposit, if entering without a carnet. Rules are per temporary import/entry; no clear annual cap found on Omani customs sites.
The period of temporary importation is 6 months under cover of a Carnet de Passages en Douane. When a Carnet de Passages en Douane is not available, the period of temporary importation is of 3 months only. This can be extended for a further 3 months against deposit of a security to cover taxes and customs duties.
