Temporary vehicle import to Slovakia
A visa and a vehicle are different law: the person and the car are given their terms by different authorities, and those terms need not match.
- Maximum term
- 180
- How the term is counted
- per entry
- Carnet de Passages
- Not required
- Extension
- Possible
"The discharge of the temporary admission procedure in the case of means of transport and containers shall take place within the following time-limits from the time the goods are placed under the procedure: … (c) means of road transport privately used: … other cases … 6 months" — Article 217, Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2015/2446. (Slovakia is an EU member and applies the same customs rule: a non-EU resident's private car on non-EU plates gets 6 months of temporary admission, no carnet is needed, and an extension is possible under Article 251 UCC.)
