Transport Canada Approves Three-Year Renewal of RV Industry ELD Exemption
Original source: RV PRO

The Canadian RV Association (CRVA) announced that Transport Canada has officially approved a three-year renewal of the Driveaway-Towaway Electronic Logging Device (ELD) Exemption, originally granted on Oct. 19, 2023. The exemption allows eligible carriers transporting motorhomes and towing recreational vehicle trailers from manufacturers to dealerships across Canada and from the United States to operate without mandatory ELD use, provided they comply with the exemption's terms and Hours of Service regulations. The renewal supports delivery efficiency and cross-border RV movement; participating carriers must submit a new Notice of Intention, maintain driver records and duty status, monitor compliance, and file annual reports with Transport Canada.
