PNG Customs also says temporary imports must be re-exported within 12 months under Section 107, or within 3 months under Section 60; the RTA permit page is the clearest tourist vehicle-stay limit for a visiting motor vehicle.

A visiting motor vehicle permit may be issued for a period of not more than six months from the date of the issue of the permit.
