• Google AdSense — advertising display using Consent Mode v2, activated only after your consent. Data may be transferred to Google servers in accordance with their privacy policy
• MaxMind Geolocation (local database) — determining country by IP address for content personalization. No data shared with third parties
• Short URL service (go.openvan.camp, self-hosted) — tracking clicks from social media. No data shared with third parties

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

6. Use of Artificial Intelligence

We use AI technologies to process news content (not users' personal data):

• Translation of article headlines and descriptions into supported languages
• Clustering — grouping similar news using semantic embeddings (Jina AI)
• Classification and relevance scoring of materials

Article texts from open sources may be sent to external APIs (Jina AI, DeepSeek, OpenAI) for processing. Users' personal data is not sent to these services.

7. Cross-Border Data Transfer

Our servers are located in Europe (Germany). When using Google Analytics and Google AdSense, data may be transferred to Google servers in accordance with their privacy policy. News article texts may be processed by external AI services located outside the EU. For all other services (Umami, Listmonk, geolocation, short links), data is stored on our servers and is not transferred outside the EU.

8. Data Retention Periods

• Technical data and analytics: up to 26 months
• Subscriber email address: until you unsubscribe
• Short link data: stored indefinitely in aggregated form
• IP hash from news submissions: stored indefinitely (irreversible, cannot identify the user)
• Cookies: as specified in the Cookie Policy

9. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights:

• Request information about collected data (right of access)
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data (right to be forgotten)
