What is a roadbook?
A trip plan on one page: the route day by day and everything you need to know about each country on the way — visas, vehicle time limits, toll roads, fuel, weather and campsites. The word comes from rallying, where the co-driver guides the crew with a roadbook.
Is it free? Do I need to sign up?
It is free and there is no sign-up. Each roadbook gets a permanent link you can save, send to your companions or print.
Where does the data come from?
Visa rules and vehicle import limits come from the OpenVan visa section, fuel prices from our Fuel Prices section, tolls from the operators’ tariffs, weather from VanSky (Open-Meteo), the route and campsites from OpenStreetMap. The roadbook lists its sources and check dates.
Can I fully rely on the dates?
Treat them as guidance, not legal advice. Rules change, so check the official websites before you leave — the roadbook links to them.
Can I change the dates or the vehicle later?
Yes. Dates, passports, stops and the vehicle can be changed right on the roadbook page and everything is recalculated at once. To change the route itself, build a new roadbook or move the points on the map.
What if people in the vehicle have different passports?
Add your companions on the roadbook page: each passport has its own visa rules, and the roadbook shows the strictest limit for the whole group.
