Farmer Kent Davidsen and his wife have applied to Billund Municipality for permission to build a campsite on their property near Grindsted. The initial plan includes 24 cabins and pitches for around 35 motorhomes. The site could be expanded threefold if demand allows. The application was submitted in October 2026.

A debate on motorhome tourism in Denmark will be held at the Autocamper Show 2026 in Fredericia on 30 October. Kirsten Munch Andersen, director of Camping Outdoor Danmark, said fees cause rural areas to miss out on more than 1 billion kroner in annual revenue. The panel includes heads of the Autocamperrådet, Landdistrikternes Fællesråd and Foreningen af Lystbådehavne i Danmark. The show runs from 30 October to 1 November and displays more than 300 motorhomes and camper vans from over 30 brands across 24,000 sq m.

A single caravan caught fire on Sunday at Skjern Å Camping on Birkevej south of Skjern. The caravan was completely burnt out and could not be saved, according to incident commander Michael Nielsen of Brand & Redning MidtVest. He said the caravan stood at a closed campsite where only two caravans remained, and now only one is left. The cause of the fire is unknown, but a technical fault in the gas or electrical installation is suspected.

A caravan caught fire at the Blommehaven campsite in Aarhus on Sunday morning. Østjyllands Fire Service received the report at 10:56; operations chief Lasse Magnussen said the flames spread quickly through the caravan. Wind and the caravans' flammable materials raised concerns that the fire could spread to other units, but firefighters brought it under control. No one was injured; one incident commander, one team leader and five firefighters took part in extinguishing the blaze. The cause has not been determined.

Camp Circle has opened registration for a camping meetup scheduled for 15–22 May 2027 at Nymindegab Camping in Denmark. About 15 pitches are planned; 2 of roughly 15 have been confirmed so far. Registration is limited to Camp Circle members and closes on 31 January 2027; the pitch itself is booked and paid for separately directly with the campsite.

A couple new to camping spent ten days in an Etrusco T 7400 SB motorhome in Denmark as part of the Camp-Life test tour 2026, organised by promobil and ACSI with CARAVANING and auto, motor und sport. The 7.40 m Fiat Ducato-based model starts at 69,999 euros, has a gross weight of 3,500 kg and is recommended for 2–4 people. Testers praised the sleeping arrangements and storage but noted the high entry step without electric assistance and a hard-to-reach overhead cabinet.

Swedish chain First Camp has put Klim Strand Camping in North Jutland up for sale for 17.5 million Danish kroner. The site includes 580 pitches and almost 7,000 sq m of buildings.

Corona Camping near Borup in Køge Municipality has received permission to establish 20 winter pitches. The local Social Democrats require proof of compliance with winter camping rules and a layout plan for approval before use. Illegal residency has been repeatedly recorded at the site. The winter permit case is handled separately from the ongoing legalisation of existing accommodation.

Denmark has proposed lowering the weight threshold for its road toll from 12 tonnes to 3,501 kg, but only for freight transport. Rumours that this will affect motorhomes are incorrect. The new rules have not yet been adopted: the consultation deadline is 14 October, with planned introduction from 5 January 2027. The proposal also permits a sleeping berth in a truck cab without registration tax consequences.

Angela and Jeroen Lankwarden moved from the Netherlands to North Mors and took over a small campsite. According to the source, they offer guests coffee or tea and talk with them, which they say helps both guests and owners relax. The couple is implementing their own concept for the holiday site.

Around noon on Wednesday, a traffic accident involving two vehicles and a caravan occurred on Ølufvad Hovedvej near Esbjerg Airport in Denmark. Fire services, ambulances and police attended the scene.

Danish manufacturer Wide Path Camper has added a fourth model, the Ive-Car'GO, to its catalog. It is available for pre-order, but technical specifications, weight, dimensions and price are not disclosed.

On 1 March, Dokkedal Camping, a family-run site for two generations, was taken over by a new ownership group. The site was renamed Lille Vildmose Camping. New camp manager Peter Larsen reported strong booking figures for his first season and has already begun preparations for the next.

Gammel Ålbo Camping near the Little Belt in Denmark has sunk 400 bottles of spirits to the seabed in collaboration with Trolden Destilleri as part of its 75th-anniversary project. According to campsite owner and manager Martin Pedersen, buyers receive ownership of a bottle that will mature on the seabed until June next year. They can retrieve it on 26 June 2027 by diving, snorkelling, or with assistance from divers. Sales began in early August, and about half of the 400 bottles have been sold so far.

Tønder Municipality in Denmark introduced stricter motorhome parking rules two years ago following numerous complaints, particularly on Rømø and in Møgeltønder. Overnight bans were imposed and official sites such as Oasen on Rømø and Marsk Camp near Skærbæk were expanded. According to Poul Erik Kjær, chairman of the technical committee, complaints about wild parking have ceased, though enforcement remains random. Criticism persists over motorhomes occupying staff parking spaces at the town hall, and a three-year-old overnight ban on Rømø was revoked after objections from the organisation Danmarks Frie Autocampere.

In North Schleswig, Denmark, discussions continued this summer about wild camping with motorhomes and campervans. At the beach parking lot in Alnor near Gravenstein, only resting is allowed, not camping, yet motorhomes and campervans, mostly with German plates, occupy the lot. Travellers use the Park4Night app to find overnight spots, while campsite operators point to sufficient official pitches with infrastructure. In low season, a pitch at Gammelmark campsite costs about 260 kroner per night, in high season about 410 kroner; at Aabenraa campsite, prices start at 256 kroner for two people in an autocamper and 274 kroner for a motorhome, with electricity at 50 kroner.

Simon Kilimann, a former Airbus and Eurogate manager, acquired the Galsklint campsite in Middelfart, Denmark, in 2025. In the first season, unexpected costs exceeded €120,000 for a new jetty, pipe and heating repairs, and IT issues. From late October 2025, the campsite will operate year-round, with plans to add pitches and a sauna. The owner is considering reopening reception in high season due to guest feedback.

The municipality of Hjørring has decided to close the campsite and open-air pool on Idræts Allé after nearly 60 years of operation. The facilities are deemed to be in too poor condition to continue without significant municipal investment. The outgoing operator has expressed surprise at the decision.

Bornholm resident Yanita Ivanova converted an old caravan into a hair salon and now serves clients at the harbor in Nexø. The 4-by-2-meter salon is fully booked on its first day. Ivanova plans to travel around the island, targeting elderly people at care centers who cannot easily visit regular salons.

The TV programme Nordseereport devoted an episode to the Danish North Sea island of Rømø. The feature covers camping on the island, where motorhomes are allowed to park directly on the 12-kilometre sandy beach. Presenter Tullio-Francesco Puoti rented a camper van to test how attractive the island is for campers. The episode also includes segments on holidays with dogs, one of Europe's largest kite festivals, and a young female brewmaster.
