Brazilian couple sells apartment to live in a 1983 Volkswagen Kombi camper van
A couple from Rio Grande do Sul has been living in a converted 1983 Volkswagen Kombi camper van since November 2024, having traveled over 12,000 kilometers. They rent out their apartment in Taquara, and their camper van, worth about 60,000 Brazilian reais, is equipped with a shower, refrigerator, and stove. The couple plans to travel across South America with no set timeline.
Brazilian Envemo Camper SUV used parts from Uno, Chevette and Opala
The Envemo Camper, a Brazilian SUV produced from 1990 to 1995, was inspired by the Jeep Cherokee but assembled using parts from common local cars. It featured a military-grade chassis from the Engesa 4, a fiberglass body, and was offered with gasoline, ethanol, and diesel engines. A 1992 test of the 4x4 diesel version recorded a top speed of 131.6 km/h and a 0-100 km/h time of 24.79 seconds.

The Casinha Viageira project, in which a couple travels across Brazil in a motorhome equipped with a library, will make its first stop in Rio de Janeiro state. From September 9 to 21, 2026, the vehicle will visit five municipalities, offering free storytelling sessions, literary activities, and a mobile library.

Vale Verde association to get motorhome as mobile base for emergency operations
The National Natural Disasters Association (ANDN) in Vale Verde will receive a motorhome to serve as a mobile base during flood, storm, and tornado response operations. The privately donated motorhome will feature solar power, satellite internet, and rest areas, enabling a nine-person team to work autonomously in disaster zones. The vehicle is expected to reduce reliance on affected municipalities' infrastructure. The association's first mission took place in Rio Bonito do Iguaçu after a tornado in November 2025.

Gusttavo Lima set up a motorhome on a Volvo FH 460 chassis with a 540 hp engine, solar panels, and lithium batteries. Ana Castela arrived in a custom Dodge Ram 3500 Limited Longhorn 2026 worth 670,000 reais, while Rafa Kalimann and Nattan came with a motorhome towed by a Ram 3500.
