Yamagata: Tendo City signs agreement with motorhome manufacturer for disaster use

Tendo City in Yamagata Prefecture has signed an agreement with Vantech (Tokorozawa, Saitama) to prioritize renting its motorhomes during natural disasters. The motorhomes, equipped with beds, heating/air conditioning, and toilets, can accommodate up to 5 people. They will be supplied from the company's production base in Murayama and a dealership in Higashine. The measure aims to support elderly people, families with infants, and personnel dispatched to disaster areas.

Yamagata: Tendo City Signs Camper Van Rental Agreement to Boost Disaster Response

Tendo City in Yamagata Prefecture has signed an agreement with camper van manufacturer and seller VANTECH to rent vehicles during natural disasters. Under the deal, VANTECH will provide up to five camper vans, each sleeping up to five people, for use as temporary accommodation for dispatched staff, medical workers, and vulnerable evacuees. The company previously deployed camper vans to the 2024 Noto Peninsula earthquake. This is the sixth such agreement VANTECH has with local governments in the prefecture.

JAL Group launches motorhome rental at Narita Airport

JAL Airtech and Japan Airlines launched the 'JAPAN RV TRAVELLER' motorhome rental service in April, with the first base at Narita Airport (Chiba Prefecture). Renters earn JAL miles based on the rental fee. The dedicated website allows booking over 20 motorhomes from partner companies, including manufacturer Vantech. Two special-design vehicles featuring aviation motifs, Wi-Fi, and JAL in-flight amenities will be available from July 1. The companies aim to expand to other airports and create a portal for booking overnight spots and activities.

Seibu Railway uses campers as mobile rest stops to prevent heatstroke

Japanese railway company Seibu Railway has fully deployed campers as mobile rest stops for outdoor workers starting spring 2026 to prevent heatstroke. A pilot project in summer 2025 received positive feedback, leading to permanent implementation.

Vantech unveils two compact campers at Japan Camping Car Show 2026

At the Japan Camping Car Show 2026, Vantech showcased the Astrare Trias 480 on an Isuzu Travio chassis and the Astrare NS Biarte (Viart) based on a Nissan Caravan. Both sleep up to four people but differ in size and price.
