Two RV Shows in the US: Portland and Augusta in March

More than 800 RV owners from across the United States and Canada gathered at the Missouri State Fairgrounds. The event was organized by the Family RV Association as its first international convention.

The City of Orange Beach, Alabama, has abandoned plans to purchase the closing Beech RV Park. The asking price of $14 million was considered too high, as the property is estimated to be worth about $7.5 million. The city council decided against ordering an appraisal, and the 23-acre site on Orange Beach Boulevard will return to the open market. The owner of Flora-Bama holds an option to buy it for $14 million and had discussed transferring that option to the city.

At the Cars&Bids auction in the US, an expedition motorhome based on a Volvo C303 TGB 1111 military truck from the 1970s sold for $22,550. The vehicle features portal axles, differential locks, a winch, a living module with a bed and sink, plus upgraded suspension and electrical systems. Despite modifications, it has underbody corrosion, dents, non-functional odometer and lights, and unknown actual mileage.

A lithium-ion battery for a power tool being charged in a shed caused a fire on June 28 in Conowingo, Cecil County, Maryland. The fire damaged an RV and a boat, with an estimated $25,000 in losses. The Office of the State Fire Marshal ruled the cause accidental due to battery or charger failure; no injuries were reported.

Blue Compass RV announced the sale of its 250,000th RV, making it one of the fastest RV companies to reach that milestone. To celebrate, the company donated a new Jayco travel trailer to a family in New York. The sale coincides with America’s 250th birthday. Two new dealerships opened: a flagship in Franklin, Kentucky, and Airstream of Virginia.

Black Book released its quarterly commentary for Q2 2026, reporting that wholesale RV values continued to normalize in early 2026. Motorhome prices softened modestly, settling near the low-$60,000 range, while towables experienced more noticeable declines, particularly among entry-level and older units. Higher financing costs and shifting consumer priorities have led to more deliberate purchasing behavior, though steady used market activity and improving dealer inventory conditions have supported overall transaction volume.
