ADAC has announced the 'Camper of the Year 2026' contest for motorhome drivers. Participants must be over 18, hold a driver's license, and own a self-propelled motorhome. According to some sources, the maximum weight is 4.5 tons; according to others, 3.5 tons. Participation is free.
Regional qualifiers will be held in Germany from May to August 2026. In Hesse, the qualifier is on June 12; in Laatzen, on May 10 with a safety training. Applications are accepted until April 20. The final takes place on September 5 at the Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf.
The main prize is a trip to North America (worth several thousand euros, according to some sources). The contest includes driving and camping skills tests.
