A petition has been launched in Pisogne demanding the cancellation of a project to build a camper area in the Nistoi meadow. The initiative is backed by Legambiente Basso Sebino, local residents, Legambiente Valle Camonica, Italia Nostra and Lipu. Opponents argue the site lies in a zone exposed to flooding from the lake and the Oglio River, and serves as a green lung with valuable reed beds—a habitat for local biodiversity. The meadow has previously been used for zero-impact activities such as scout camps, civil protection drills and leisure. The petitioners claim the development would cause irreversible soil consumption and ecosystem damage. A suitable private facility already exists nearby.
