Tokyo Camper Show 2026: 238 vehicles from 74 exhibitors

On July 11–12, 2026, the Tokyo Camper Show 2026 was held at Tokyo Big Sight, organized by JRVA. 74 companies displayed 238 motorhomes and travel trailers. Highlights included HiAce-based camper vans (despite ongoing supply shortages), Fiat Ducato-based models, and the first Japanese debut of an EV camper van based on the Kia PV5. Light camper vans based on Suzuki Every and Daihatsu Hijet also drew strong interest.

The 24th Beijing RV Expo and the 33rd China International RV Camping Conference will take place from September 11 to 13, 2026, at the RV World venue in Fangshan District, Beijing. The event is co-organized by RV World Group, 21st Century RV, and RV Family. It will feature over 100 domestic and international motorhome brands, chassis manufacturers, parts suppliers, and camping equipment providers. Highlights include new model launches, business matchmaking, expert talks by long-distance travelers, and social activities for RV owners.

Scania STX 3 POP S590: red motorhome with V8 that can be driven on a B license

At the Caravan Salon Düsseldorf, the luxury motorhome STX 3 POP on a Scania S590 chassis was presented. It features a 16-liter V8 engine with 590 hp, weighs 26 tons, but can be driven by holders of a B license obtained before 1996. Equipment includes three slide-outs, an e-bike garage, solar panels, panoramic windows, heated floors, a 15-bottle wine cooler, Bose sound system, steam oven, washer/dryer, central vacuum, 43-inch TV, two awnings (6×3 m), Wi-Fi with 4G/5G, and a diesel generator. Price: 8.2 million Swedish kronor.

Kia PV5 becomes a camper: Direct Cars builds electric van for overnight stays in Japan

Japanese company Direct Cars unveiled the DC EVLIFE, a camper based on the Kia PV5 Passenger, at the Tokyo Camping Car Show 2026. The vehicle features a sleep module, LED lighting, USB-C ports, AC100V outlets, and an AC-DC converter. It has two sleeping spots, suitable for a couple or a family with one child. The electric platform allows quiet operation and powering external devices without running a diesel engine. Direct Cars plans to expand Kia PBV dealer points, including Suzuka, Atsugi, and Fukuoka-Higashi.

Direct Cars unveils DC EVLIFE camper based on Kia PV5

Japanese company Direct Cars unveiled the DC EVLIFE camper at the Tokyo Camper Show 2026, based on the Kia PV5 Passenger electric van. The vehicle sleeps two people and includes a sleeping module, LED lighting, USB-C ports, and a 100 V AC outlet. Unlike large motorhomes, the DC EVLIFE is designed for short trips: the driver can set up a bed and spend the night without a tent. The electric powertrain allows lighting and device charging without running a diesel engine. Direct Cars plans to expand its Kia PBV dealer network in Japan.

Third Chongqing International Motorhome and Camping Expo to be held Sept 30–Oct 2

The third Chongqing International Motorhome and Camping Exhibition will take place from September 30 to October 2, 2021, at Xiushu Auto Camping Park in Bishan. Nearly 200 exhibitors are expected. The event features motorhomes, camping gear, outdoor activities, and forums on campground development and travel routes. According to the China Motorhome Rental Association, the motorhome and camping market in China is projected to exceed 1 trillion yuan by 2025.

ALFLEX to unveil two camper vans based on Nissan Caravan and Toyota HiAce at Tokyo Camping Car Show 2026

ALFLEX (Kyoto) announced on July 7, 2026, its participation in the Tokyo Camping Car Show 2026, held July 11–12 at Tokyo Big Sight. The company will display two camper van models: the CRESEED (Nissan Caravan) and the CEEBUS (Toyota HiAce). The CRESEED offers two layouts: a 7-seat forward-facing configuration or a 4-seat version with a fixed bed and galley. The CEEBUS features dual sliding doors, a galley, and a flexible free space.

2026 Busan Mobility Show concludes after 10 days

The 2026 Busan Mobility Show, held from June 28 to July 7 in Busan, ended without any accidents. The exhibition featured UAM, electric vehicles, large motorhomes, and other mobility solutions. The concurrently held Korea Camper Show introduced electric campers and latest motorhomes. Eight global automakers including Hyundai, Kia, Genesis, BMW, MINI, BYD, Ineos Grenadier, and Ram participated.

Midwest Overlanding & Off-Road Expo to Relocate for 2027

The MOORE Expo announced it will move to the Missouri State Fairgrounds in Sedalia, Missouri, starting in 2027. The relocation is driven by capacity constraints at the current Ozark Empire Fairgrounds venue as the event has grown to attract thousands of attendees and over 200 brands annually. The new site offers 150,000 square feet of indoor space in the Governor Michael L. Parson Arena, approximately 2,000 on-site campsites, and improved access via Interstate 70. The 2027 expo is scheduled for April 16-17.

JP STAR unveils Happy1 City Turbo camper prototype at Tokyo Outdoor Show 2026

Moon Star Export, under the JP STAR brand, showcased the Happy1 City Turbo prototype at the Tokyo Outdoor Show 2026 in Makuhari Messe. Based on the Daihatsu Atrai, the camper features a turbo engine and an electric pop-up roof, enabling entry into parking lots with a 2.1 m height limit. It accommodates four people, including upper sleeping berths. Sales details and final specifications are yet to be announced.
