Bookings at farm-based caravan and camping sites over the May bank holiday weekend rose 54% year-on-year, according to Pitchup.com. Use of the site's 'farm' filter increased by 336%. Founder Dan Yates attributes the growth to factors including TV shows like Clarkson's Farm, interest in UK holidays, affordability, and warmer summers. Farmers report that campsite income has become vital to their businesses.

Residents and holidaymakers have been allowed back into a caravan park near Dunwich Heath after a wildfire that spread across about 112 hectares. Alcohol sales would be permitted from 8am to 11pm. The application was made under the Licensing Act 2003. Residents have until August 24 to submit written objections or comments to the council's licensing section. Making false statements in connection with the application carries a maximum fine of £5,000.
