Coastal Maine glamping resort sold to national company

Streamside RV Resorts and Campgrounds has acquired Sandy Pines Campground in Kennebunkport, Maine, in a court-approved sale. The purchase marks the company's 40th acquisition since its founding in 2023. The resort, which features 83 RV sites, 46 tent sites, and 66 glamping sites, had been undergoing Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings. Atlantic Hospitality will continue to manage the park through the end of the 2026 season.

The Dyrt, a campsite listing app built by the largest RVing and camping community in the U.S., has announced its 2026 Best Places to Camp: Top 10 list, based on user reviews and ratings. Dispersed camping dominates the rankings, with the top three spots—Valley of the Gods in Utah, Scoria Pit in North Dakota, and The Wall in South Dakota—being free sites on public land. According to The Dyrt’s 2026 Camping Report, 59.8% of campers camped for free at least once last year, and 79.1% of them went dispersed camping.

Jellystone Park Camp-Resort locations across the United States and Canada have announced a series of fall and Halloween-themed activities for September and October. The events include apple bobbing, pumpkin painting, costume contests, haunted trails and houses, as well as themed weekends such as fishing derbies and cooking competitions. The activities will take place at more than 75 franchised locations.
