On June 18, 2026, a woman was killed during an attempted robbery on the Toluca-Palmillas highway in Querétaro, Mexico. She was traveling in the camper of a pickup truck when armed suspects tried to force the vehicle to stop. The driver accelerated, triggering a chase during which shots were fired. One bullet struck the woman in the rear compartment. The driver stopped at a gas station in El Marqués, where paramedics confirmed her death. No arrests have been made; the investigation is ongoing.

As part of the Héroes Paisanos program, the Migrantes Unidos caravan, comprising 402 vehicles and about two thousand people, entered Mexico through the border in Nuevo Laredo.
