Thetford's Thermasan system, marketed in the 1960s and 70s, allowed motorhome owners to incinerate waste from the black water tank via the exhaust. It required exhaust gases to exceed 480°C and could discharge up to 20 liters of waste per hour onto the road. The system was discontinued due to stricter emissions regulations and issues with residual odors from urine inside the vehicle.
