San Jose, California, has reduced the number of RVs on its streets from 960 to 385 since January 2024 through temporary parking bans and stricter enforcement. City officials report cleaner and safer neighborhoods, but RV residents say they are being displaced without housing alternatives. Over the past fiscal year, the city towed more than 5,467 vehicles, up from fewer than 4,000 the previous year.
