The government of Madrid has approved amendments to the Tourism Organization Law that legally establish new accommodation types: hostels and reception and overnight areas for motorhomes, campers, and similar vehicles. The reform also expands tourists' rights and obligations, introduces insurance requirements, and updates the fine system.
The document fixes the principle of free pricing and updates rules for access and stay at tourist facilities. In 2025, the region received 15.4 million visitors, and tourism's share of GDP reached an all-time high of 8.7% (28.6 billion euros).
