Ahead of the summer season, Dutch authorities remind about parking rules for caravans and motorhomes. In most municipalities, such vehicles can be left on a public road or parking lot for no more than three consecutive days, for example, for loading and unloading.
Violators face a fine: according to some sources, from 90 to 120 euros plus administrative costs, according to others, 129 euros. In case of a repeat offense, the vehicle may be towed at the owner's expense. Rules vary by municipality: parking may be prohibited within city limits for vehicles longer than 6 meters. Even on private property, parking may be banned if the vehicle is visible from the road and disrupts the street's appearance.
