An RV fire on Highway 101 in Humboldt County was contained Thursday after 10 a.m. Multiple agencies, including Rio Dell Fire, Cal Fire, and Caltrans, prevented the fire from spreading. Firefighters noted fatigue but continued work ahead of the Wildwood Days weekend.
Earlier reports said a large motorhome caught fire near the Scotia exit, with flames spreading to vegetation and prompting a full response. No injuries were reported, and the fire was quickly extinguished. The southbound first lane was temporarily closed, with traffic diverted through Scotia.
