In Germany, binding requirements for the installation, fastening, and equipment of refillable gas cylinders (Tankflaschen) in motorhomes and caravans have been in force since June 8, 2026. The DVGW G 607 document, published by the German Liquefied Gas Association (DVFG), establishes uniform standards for such cylinders for the first time, including an automatic fill limiter and a safety valve.
The rule creates legal certainty for operators, inspectors, and manufacturers. However, refueling such cylinders at public filling stations in Germany remains prohibited; an amendment to the technical regulation on operational safety is being prepared.
