German manufacturer SOD has unveiled the Peak 6×6 motorhome built on a Mercedes-Benz Arocs chassis. Gross weight is 33 tons, length 6.5 m, width 2.55 m. It is powered by a 15.6-litre Mercedes OM473 turbodiesel producing 578 hp and 2,800 Nm of torque. Drive is 6×6 with differential locks, suspension is double wishbone independent. The interior features solid wood and stone trim, 2.3 m headroom, separate toilet and shower, keypad entry and a safe. Roof-mounted solar panels, a separate diesel heater and generator provide off-grid capability. A lifting platform can carry a quad or two motorcycles; an optional trailer for a car is available. Price is not disclosed; production is bespoke.
