A23 crash
On 30 July, on the A23 Hamburg-Heide between the Schenefeld and Hanerau-Hademarschen junctions, a car collided with a motorhome. The motorhome overturned onto its side, and debris scattered across the roadway. Four people sustained minor injuries.
Aftermath
The northbound carriageway was temporarily closed for rescue operations and a helicopter landing. A traffic jam several kilometres long formed before Schenefeld. According to police, the incident did not affect access to the Wacken festival, as most of the 85,000 visitors had already arrived.
