Two dead after remote RV fire near Trail, British Columbia

Police have arrested a suspect in a series of arsons at RV parks. The incidents occurred in May 2026 in Nebraska, South Carolina, Tennessee, Wisconsin, and Greenwood County. Details of the motive and the suspect's identity have not been released.

A recreational vehicle was completely destroyed by fire near the Seven Mile Dam, southeast of Trail, B.C. Two bodies were found in the wreckage. Police say the fire is not suspicious; the investigation has been handed to the BC Coroners Service.

Kings District RCMP arrested 38-year-old Travis Darrell Seyforth after executing a search warrant on April 28 at a property on Harmony Road. Seyforth faces charges of theft over $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, and driving while prohibited. His Toyota Tacoma, used to haul the trailer, was seized as offence-related property.
