RV fire in British Columbia
On May 12, 2026, a fire completely destroyed an RV in the Pend d'Oreille Valley near the Seven Mile Dam, close to Trail, British Columbia. The call to emergency services was delayed due to a lack of cell service in the area; according to one source, a local resident had to travel to a coverage zone. Firefighters from Kootenay Boundary Regional Fire Rescue arrived to find the RV fully engulfed and parked on a remote road. They extinguished the blaze and prevented it from spreading to the forest. Two bodies were discovered inside.
Trail and District RCMP confirmed the fire was not criminal and no signs of arson were found. The investigation has been turned over to the BC Coroners Service.
