A retired Brazilian couple has been living in Europe since 2019, traveling in a 1991 Peugeot Pilote motorhome. Over four years, they have covered approximately 60,000 kilometers across 12 countries, including Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, and Greece. They purchased and customized the motorhome after moving to Portugal, opting for a life without a fixed home.

European manufacturers have unveiled new models for the 2026 motorhome and camper van market. Key trends include narrower, more maneuverable motorhomes like the Pilote Atlas A630G/A690GJ, and camper vans with enhanced off-grid capabilities, such as the Westfalia Kipling. In the Overland segment, the Alphavan Off Grid 4×4, based on a Mercedes Sprinter with all-wheel drive, starts at 260,000 euros.

German magazine Promobil has published an overview of motorhomes with unusual layouts. Models from various manufacturers, including Hymer, Pilote, and Eura Mobil, feature bathrooms at the rear, eliminate fixed beds in favor of lift-up or roof beds, and offer enlarged living areas. Most of the featured models are between 6 and 6.4 meters long and are designed for 2-4 sleeping berths.
