Starting July 7, 2025, new EU regulations will require all newly registered motorhomes and camper vans to include advanced driver assistance systems. Mandatory equipment includes intelligent speed assist, reversing camera, driver drowsiness detector, alcohol interlock, lane-keeping and emergency braking assistants, and tire pressure monitoring. Industry experts estimate the added cost at €1,000–€3,000 per vehicle. The rules also apply to conversions of commercial vans into motorhomes.
