Spanish blogger and content creator Juanma López, who lives in a camper, has shared his real monthly expenses. He says they exceed 1000 euros, contradicting the common belief that van life is inexpensive.
Main costs include around 400 euros for fuel, 350–500 euros for food (including eating out), 90 euros for Starlink satellite internet, and 80 euros for campsites, laundry, gym, and other services. Electricity and water cost almost nothing.
Sources differ on food costs: some list 350 euros for groceries and 150 euros for restaurants, while others cite a combined 500 euros. López emphasizes that, contrary to expectations, living in a camper is not cheap.
