Living in a camper van costs over 1,000 euros per month

The Segovia city council will not immediately decide on relocating the motorhome area to the former regiment site. Priority is given to launching a parking lot for tourist buses and assessing its operation first.

The monthly cost of vanlife in Spain ranges from €500 to €1,200, with initial investment for buying and converting a van between €20,000 and €70,000.

However, on Ibiza, motorhome living is complicated by overnight parking bans and high fines, potentially raising costs to €1,800 per month.

Travel expert Marina clarified the difference between overnighting and camping for motorhome and campervan owners. According to DGT regulations, overnighting is allowed as long as you do not extend beyond the vehicle's perimeter. Setting up an awning, chairs, or tables is considered camping and incurs fines from 90 to 600 euros, and up to 5000 euros in protected areas.
