The Nugget evolved through several generations: in 2000 the kitchen moved to the center, in 2013 driving dynamics improved, in 2021 Active and Trail variants appeared, and in 2023 all-wheel drive and hybrid powertrain were introduced.

German conversion specialist Nugget Schmiede has introduced a modified Ford Nugget camper van featuring all-wheel drive and a new aerodynamically swept high roof. The High Roof Twin model is powered by a 168-hp 2.0-liter diesel engine with an eight-speed automatic transmission, priced from €95,980. The company developed this version because Ford's factory Nugget High Roof is not yet available with all-wheel drive.
