In 2025, nearly 8,000 motorhomes were registered in Italy — a 10.6% increase year-on-year. Italy ranks third in Europe for motorhome and caravan production, with 80% of output exported. The Ministry of Tourism allocated €25.7 million to build 4,500 new parking spots. In 2025, Italian camping tourism reached 74 million overnight stays and generated €8.5 billion in direct and indirect revenue.
Exhibitions and Innovations
The Salone del Camper, Europe's second-largest motorhome show, will take place in Parma from 12–20 September 2026. The previous edition showcased 12 high-tech novelties for the 2026 season, including a €820,000 motorhome with a built-in garage for a Mini, electric vans, and folding tents. Organizers note that motorhome travel has become a permanent lifestyle, with demand shifting toward compact, tech-savvy, and eco-friendly vehicles.
