Großglockner VW-Bulli-Treffen 2026

The Großglockner VW-Bulli-Treffen is an informal three-day gathering of Volkswagen Bus and campervan enthusiasts at Kals am Großglockner — a village in the Hohe Tauern Alps at the foot of Austria's highest peak, the Großglockner (3,798m). The high-altitude alpine setting makes this one of the most spectacular VW Bus meetups in Europe.

Kals am Großglockner sits at around 1,300m in the East Tyrol, with the Großglockner High Alpine Road nearby. VW Bus owners, T1/T2/T3 Bulli enthusiasts, and campervan travellers converge here for a weekend of mountain scenery, alpine roads, and the camaraderie of the Austrian VW community.

Camping project in Bergern rejected

A plan to build a campsite with around 50 pitches in Bergern, Austria, has been rejected by the local council. Seven council members voted against initiating the zoning procedure, with two abstentions. The project's initiator, innkeeper Alfons Baldinger, expressed disappointment, noting the campsite was intended as a project for his son. Earlier, residents had raised concerns about noise and increased traffic.
