The Consell of Ibiza, together with the mayors of five municipalities and local police, has announced coordinated measures against illegal caravan parking on agricultural land. A digital data-sharing system between municipalities has been introduced to prevent offenders from evading fines by moving between towns.
Law 5/2024 explicitly prohibits overnight stays and camping with motor vehicles on agricultural land outside legal campsites. In 2025, 13 reports were filed; in 2026, 17 have already been issued. Fines range from €10,001 to €30,000.
From June 1 to September 30, 2026, entry to the island will be limited to 16,000 vehicles — 4,000 fewer than in 2025. A booking at a legal campsite will be required for entry. The measures target illegal parking in protected areas, on the coast, and in natural parks, as well as the use of caravans by seasonal workers due to the housing crisis.
