Marion and Josef Geisler from Baunatal completed a six-week trip through Canada in a rented motorhome, covering 8,500 km. They flew from Frankfurt to Toronto on May 11, rented a motorhome, and traveled from the east coast to Vancouver. During the trip, they observed bald eagles and black bears, and attended a public viewing of the World Cup match Germany vs. Ivory Coast, declining to buy tickets due to high prices (€850–3,000).

Callander extends overnight parking for next ice fishing season

The municipality of Callander, Ontario, has extended a pilot program allowing overnight parking in two designated municipal lots for ice anglers for the 2026–2027 season. The general overnight parking ban remains in effect on all other streets and lots. Signs will be installed at the exempt lots to improve public awareness. After the season, staff will assess usage and enforcement data before council decides on making the program permanent.
