The Land and Environment Court of New South Wales ruled that Josh Hines and Manu Bon cannot continue living in a motorhome on a property in Coolagolite without the required development consent. Property owner Gordon Kelly allowed the couple to place the motorhome on his land, zoned for primary production, in 2023; after a public complaint, Bega Valley Shire Council said last year the structure was used as permanent housing without approval. The court found the motorhome could legally fall under the definition of a caravan even if it resembles a regular house, but that this status does not bypass NSW land-use legislation; the council could not lawfully require demolition of the caravan because it is not a building. Under NSW law, one caravan can be placed on a property without council approval if it is associated with an occupied house, used by members of the household, and the land already has an approved main dwelling.

Storyteller Overland has unveiled the GXV Wild model based on the RAM 3500. The price is $299,898. It features a 6.4-liter Hemi V8 engine producing 380 hp and 582 Nm of torque. Off-road capability is enhanced by 275/80 R20 tires and an AEV system. The range reaches 4,990 km with a 350-liter fuel tank. Inside, there is a sleeping area, kitchen, and bathroom. The GXV Hilt model costs $525,000. Production is scheduled for 2026.

Business Insider reporter Joey Hadden detailed her experience staying in a 250-square-foot micro home on wheels booked via Airbnb in Miami in 2021. Expectations of mobile housing were not met: the home sat on cinder blocks in a yard, and moving it seemed difficult. The interior proved spacious thanks to high ceilings and eight windows. Hadden noted space-saving features like a sliding bathroom door and a curtain instead of a closet door, as well as a queen-size bed. She concluded that a small home can be spacious enough for full-time living, prompting her to reconsider downsizing.

At the Caravan Salon 2026, Nissan and Eifelland unveiled the electric camper Interstar-e Relax. It features an 87 kWh battery and a WLTP range of 410 km. The interior includes two single beds measuring 1.90 by 1.60 meters, a kitchen, and V2L capability for powering external devices. Priced at 89,900 euros (about $102,000) in Germany, it competes with the Mercedes-Benz EQV and Volkswagen ID. Buzz.
Winnebago has introduced a new off-road motorhome, the Arka, built on the chassis of the heavy-duty Ram 5500 pickup. It features a 6.7-liter turbodiesel producing 360 hp and 1,085 Nm, and can tow a 6.8-ton trailer. The living module accommodates four people, with a kitchen, bathroom, and sleeping areas. Claimed autonomy is 14 days, supported by a 16.8 kWh battery, solar panels, and a 227-liter water tank. Price starts at $331,901.

German motorhome manufacturer Vario Mobil has unveiled the luxury Perfect 1200 QS Platinum model based on the Mercedes Actros 2553 LLL truck. The 12-meter-long, 26-tonne motorhome features a garage for a car, a 12.8-liter turbo diesel producing 530 hp, air suspension and rear-wheel steering. The interior covers 35 square meters and is finished with leather, walnut wood and premium fabric. Prices start at 2.2 million euros.

A 2022 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter motorhome in Revel trim is listed for sale in Rivne, Ukraine, at $179,000. The vehicle was imported from the US, where it sustained minor front bumper damage in a 2024 accident, without affecting structural elements. Mileage is 27,000 km.
