Nissan Interstar-e Relax: electric camper for 90,000 euros

Volkswagen is offering the California Beach Camper for lease at 399 euros per month with no down payment. The deal includes a parking heater, all-season tires, and a maintenance package. The camper sleeps four and features a pull-out rear kitchen. The lease term is 24 months with an annual mileage of 10,000 km. Total cost over two years is 11,425 euros, including a preparation fee of 1,849 euros. Delivery takes about six months.

Volkswagen will present the world premiere of an air-inflatable kitchen and a flexible bed system developed exclusively for the new California Beach at the Caravan Salon 2026 in Düsseldorf, opening on August 28. The modules, created in cooperation with Staff Bubble, can be installed or removed in minutes without tools. The kitchen weighs less than 10 kg, the bed 12 kg in double and 6 kg in single configuration. The system allows the vehicle to be used as a full camper or as an everyday family car.

The 'Neue Scheune' campsite in Ferch on the Schwielowsee, about 30 km from Berlin, will be auctioned in September. The auction is organized by Deutsche Grundstücksauktionen AG; the starting price has not been disclosed.

On Monday morning, a motorhome parked in a carport in Hollenstedt (Rotenburg district) burned out completely. Firefighters prevented the fire from spreading to nearby trees and bushes, but the vehicle could not be saved. Damage is estimated at more than 50,000 euros. Additionally, on Saturday, several accidents occurred on the A1 in the Rotenburg district, including one involving a car and a semi-trailer near Stuckenborstel, with total damage of around 150,000 euros. On Sunday evening, a 63-year-old man was seriously injured in Winsen (Harburg district) after being hit by a tractor with a trailer.

According to a ruling by the Federal Fiscal Court, the sale of private motorhomes is not subject to income tax, even if the vehicle was used for business purposes. The court decided that a motorhome is not a 'business asset' if it was used predominantly for personal purposes. This ruling provides legal certainty for owners selling their motorhomes.

ADAC Hessen-Thüringen has released the PiNCAMP Most Wanted 2026 ranking, based on page views by German users. The top three in Hesse are KNAUS Campingpark Eschwege (1st), Camping- und Ferienpark Teichmann (2nd), and Kassel Camping & Wohnmobilplatz (3rd). New entries include Camping Fuldaschleife (9th) and Seecamping Mainflingen (10th). Only campsites with at least four reviews and an average rating of at least 7 out of 10 were considered.
