Winterthur city police are auctioning an ownerless Fiat Ducato 290/14 motorhome (1990) under Art. 721 para. 2 ZGB. The vehicle had been parked on a private lot for about a year; the owner died and the estate was declared bankrupt. The auction begins on July 23, 2026, via Ricardo.ch.
A truck rear-ended a caravan on the A6 near St. Leon-Rot, causing extensive damage to three vehicles. According to police, a 29-year-old truck driver, around 1:45 p.m., collided with the caravan of a 73-year-old driver between the Kronau junction and the Walldorf interchange. The caravan was pushed into the towing vehicle, which then hit the guardrail. No injuries were reported. The estimated damage is 40,000 euros.
The Bavarian town of Iphofen is introducing charges for the motorhome parking area at the Einersheimer Tor gate. Previously, overnight stays were free. The fee will be 10 euros per night, including electricity and water. The city council approved the measure to cover maintenance costs.
In Odensachsen (Haunetal, Hersfeld-Rotenburg district), the Haune-Rock festival began on July 16, 2026. Many attendees arrived early, setting up their caravans, motorhomes, and tents. A meet-up was held in the camper lounge on Wednesday evening. Mayor Timo Lübeck reported that the queue of visitors almost reached the federal highway before the official start. The festival runs for three days, with eight bands performing on the first day.
Coalition Vans has released images of its new Stealth Camper. The vehicle looks like a standard delivery van from the outside but is fully converted for living. According to the manufacturer, this disguise offers advantages in urban areas and serves as a deterrent against break-ins.

On July 15, a severe storm with hail hit the Lake Constance region. In Kressbronn, a 30-meter tree fell onto four campers at a campsite; a family escaped unharmed. Damage estimated at 150,000 euros.
Long-term campers at the 'La Nouvelle Plage' campsite in Estavayer-le-Lac (Fribourg canton) have filed an appeal with the cantonal court against the removal of their seasonal pitches. Operator TCS, which bought the campsite in 2024, plans to reduce the number of seasonal pitches from 108 to 20 and build luxury chalets for tourists (glamping). The campers argue that the new zoning plan was approved without a required detailed development plan. The court has suspended the contested points pending a decision.
An abandoned caravan was discovered in the Schneidmühlengrund area of Floh-Seligenthal, Thuringia. The municipality had set up a motorhome parking spot there, popular with tourists in summer, but unknown persons left the old caravan in the woods, creating an illegal dump.
An 80-year-old man sold his six-year-old caravan to a dealer for €1,500 after the dealer measured 43% moisture at one spot and claimed the caravan was only scrap. The dealer paid immediately, papers were transferred, but the caravan remains with the seller. Two lawyers declined the case. The owner suspects fraud.

The spot costs 18 francs per night including electricity, contributing 5,000–7,000 francs annually to the farm through shop sales.
French manufacturer Notin has introduced the new Envol series, starting at €80,900. This is significantly lower than the brand's usual prices, while retaining premium features. The series includes three floorplans: E649 (6.49 m) with a drop-down bed, E719CF (7.19 m) with a queen bed, and E719JF (7.19 m) with twin beds. Standard equipment includes a Pioneer multimedia system with navigation and rear-view camera, Truma Combi 6 heater, and an insulated and heated waste water tank. For €3,000, a package adds a 150 Ah lithium battery, 2000 W inverter, 200 W solar panel with MPPT controller, and a Thule awning. The rear garage has a height of up to 115 cm.
Joa-by-Pilote, a brand under the Pilote Group, offers seven semi-integrated motorhomes on the German market priced between €66,000 and €68,000. All models are based on the Fiat Ducato (140 hp, 3.5 t) and come with standard features including a solar panel, awning, rear-view camera, and lane-keeping assist. For the 2027 model year, interior design has been refreshed and bathrooms optimized.
TVB chairman Franz Theurl announced plans for a caravan park at Lienz Hochstein. The project includes about 30 pitches without soil sealing. Planning is underway, with construction possibly starting in 2027.
External sunshades for the windshield reduce interior temperature by up to 8 degrees Celsius compared to an unprotected vehicle, according to a 2021 ADAC test. Internal shades are less effective, cooling by only 4 degrees. A full vehicle cover can lower the temperature by up to 10 degrees.

Challenger has introduced the new Sport Edition line for its Citroën-based campers. The V 114 model, 5.99 m long, features a transformable bathroom with a pivoting wall that enlarges the shower area. Price starts at €51,490. The series also includes five other floorplans, including the V210 with a garage for two bicycles.
