A comparison of ten campsites on and near Lake Constance reveals differences in dog regulations, including water access, fees, and availability of rental accommodation. Only four sites provide designated dog access to the lake: Camping Park Gohren, Schloss Kirchberg, Camping Seehorn, and Klausenhorn. At Markelfingen and Hegne, dogs are not allowed on the beach or in the water despite the lakeside location. Dog fees range from 3 to 6 euros per night, while Seehorn charges 5 Swiss francs. Most sites do not allow dogs in rental accommodation; Seehorn is an exception, permitting dogs in mobile homes and PODhouses for 10 Swiss francs per night.

German company ZIBMAK has introduced the modular Vario Keder adapter, which slides into an existing awning rail and adds two additional rails for attaching sun canopies, string lights, towel hooks, and other accessories. The device consists of 48 cm sections connected by joiners to achieve the desired length. Made of rigid PVC without plasticizers or fiberglass, the product is manufactured in Germany. It is available in red for €14.99 and grey for €16.65, including a connector. A VarioAdapter has also been released for the Volkswagen Multivan rail, enabling the use of accessories with a 6 mm diameter.

German publication promobil, together with Markus Wolf from fan4van, explains how motorhome users can bypass geo-blocking of streaming services such as ARD, RTL and Netflix abroad. This involves using a VPN to connect the device to a server in the home country, or a VPN-capable mobile router, or a remote connection to a home Fritzbox router via WireGuard. Free VPN services have limitations on speed and data volume. Using a VPN is legal, but may violate the terms of service of streaming platforms.

In Vechelde, unknown persons broke into a parked motorhome by forcing open a window and stole a small amount of cash from the interior. The incident occurred on Königsberger Straße; according to police, the break-in happened after the previous afternoon. Vechelde police are seeking witnesses and ask to call 05302/93049-0.

Promobil has published a list of eight five-star campsites in Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Italy and France that offer spa and wellness facilities. The selection includes Kur- & Feriencamping Holmernhof Dreiquellenbad in Bad Griesbach, Sportcamp Woferlgut in Bruck, Caravan Park Sexten in Sexten, Wirthshof Resort in Markdorf, Ferienparadies Schwarzwälder Hof in Seelbach, Vakantiepark De Twee Bruggen in Winterswijk, Camping Village Sylvamar in Labenne and Airotel de l'Océan in Lacanau-Océan. These sites provide thermal pools, saunas, massages, beauty treatments and water parks; some accommodate motorhomes over 8 metres long and have grey water disposal stations.

Bobingen's city council plans to examine the feasibility of a motorhome stopover. The facility is expected to attract tourists and increase municipal revenue, as well as support local restaurants and service businesses. No decision on implementation has been made yet.

In Zeven, five motorhomes caught fire at a dealer's premises. Three were completely destroyed, two damaged by heat radiation. The cause is under investigation.

On Sunday afternoon, a motorhome caught fire on the A14 motorway between Halle-Trotha and Löbejün. The road was temporarily closed in the direction of Magdeburg for firefighting. No information is available on injuries or the cause.

Some mini caravans are certified for winter use. Under European standard DIN EN 1645-1, a winter-capable caravan must heat from 0 to 20 degrees Celsius within two hours, while a winter-proof one must heat from minus 15 to 20 degrees in four hours and hold that temperature for one hour. The Kip Shelter Plus weighs under 1,000 kg, has an 80-watt underfloor heating and a Whale heater, priced at 26,645 euros. For gas systems, propane is recommended over butane.

On October 4, a camper trailer caught fire in Mainleus. The fire destroyed the vehicle. No one was injured. Police cite a possible technical defect and estimate damage at around 6000 euros.

Around 12:50 on Friday, a white and blue motorhome sideswiped a truck on Staatsstraße 2438 between Roden and Zimmern, damaging the truck's side mirror. The motorhome driver left the scene toward Zimmern. Marktheidenfeld police are asking witnesses to call (09391) 9841-0.

A large fire broke out early Sunday morning at the Bella Italia campsite in Peschiera del Garda. More than 20 people were injured, one seriously. Exploding gas cylinders hampered firefighting.

A campsite in Våmhus, Mora Municipality, Dalarna region, is for sale at €539,000. The 1.51-hectare plot has 65 pitches, 48 with electricity, eight cottages, two glamping tents, a service building with eight showers and six toilets, four EV charging stations, six canoes and two SUPs. Dutch owners bought it in 2022 and modernised it. A separate house is offered nearby for €200,000.

On the A20 near Lübeck, a motorhome drove onto the hard shoulder where a 58-year-old driver was fixing a flat tyre. The man died at the scene; the road was closed for about three hours.

After about two and a half years of long-term travel, the authors compared laundry in self-service laundries, campsite machines, laundry services and hand washing. They washed roughly every three to four weeks, preferring self-service laundries for their large drums, multiple machines and dryers. Drawbacks included different payment systems, time and seasonal closures of laundries and campsites. In Albania, at a campsite in Berat, they paid 28 euros for a pitch, three washing machines, a dryer and a litre of olive oil.

On the night of 4 October, two separate fires occurred in Blankenfelde-Mahlow: a car caught fire in Mahlow, and a motorhome was completely destroyed in Waldblick. Damage is estimated in the high five-figure range, and the causes of both fires remain unknown.
