Nissan has introduced the Interstar-e Camper, a fully electric camper van designed for long-distance travel and camping. The vehicle features a sleeping area, a kitchen with a stove, sink and refrigerator, and an onboard power supply system. It offers a sufficient driving range and supports DC fast charging. The model targets the growing market for electric recreational vehicles.
Lingchuan County in China's Shanxi Province has launched the 'Taihang No.1, Kilometer Zero' camp for motorhome and motorcycle travelers. Located on the Taihang No.1 tourist route, which sees over 30,000 vehicles daily, the camp offers designated parking for motorcycles and motorhomes, an event stage, an open-air market, shops, 24-hour public showers, electricity and water hookups, and Wi-Fi. The 2026 project attracts visitors from Henan and Anhui provinces, many staying for 10 days or more. Local authorities say the camp boosts revenue for restaurants, accommodations, and agricultural sales along the route.
From July 20 to August 5, 2026, Discovery Plaza on G floor of Siam Discovery will host the Siam Discovery Camper Car Culture event, focusing on camping and motorhome culture. Highlights include overlanding and rooftop tent gear from Thai brand Sloth Outdoor, a food truck zone, and live acoustic music (July 25 – August 5). Influencers Toptap and Minlee will attend.

In Thailand, many drivers open the hood after returning home to speed up engine bay cooling. This practice can extend the life of rubber and plastic parts, reduce battery heat, and deter rodents. However, it also poses risks: accidental injury, faster wear of hydraulic hood struts, and debris accumulation. Honda plans to resume production of the Element model in 2029. Production is set to begin in the second quarter of 2029 at a plant in Ohio, with a target volume of around 100,000 units in the first full year. A new campsite called 'Khuan Kong Thui' has opened in Phang Nga province, Thailand, on a former rubber plantation. The owner converted the land into a tourist spot with panoramic views of the city and mountains. The campsite offers 11 tents, barbecue equipment, a cafe, and a restaurant. It is noted for stargazing at night and sunrise views in the morning.
In Central Java, Indonesia, a family of four was found dead in their tent. The incident occurred at an altitude of about 1,823 meters, with thick fog hampering the recovery of bodies. Police are investigating two main theories: carbon monoxide poisoning from a gas stove used inside the tent, or food poisoning. Food samples have been sent for lab analysis; the investigation is ongoing.
