Volkswagen turns ID. Buzz into an electric home on wheels

At the Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf, new flagship models based on the Mercedes Sprinter are being presented. Demand for this vehicle remains high despite price increases. Among the novelties are the first all-wheel-drive integrated motorhome Kabe Imperial Ri830 Traq 4x4 with Torque-on-Demand system, as well as the Eura Xtura 656 HB with a roof tent, Laika Kreos H5109 MB, Dethleffs Graneo A6823-2, and Atlantis Carbon 4x4 with a carbon monocoque. Prices range from 170,000 to 260,000 euros.

On Sunday afternoon, the driver of a rig with a burning caravan drove along the A 45 towards Dortmund. The couple from Gütersloh was returning from vacation. According to police, the fire was likely caused by a defect in an electrical appliance.

At the CMT 2026 trade fair in Stuttgart, Fendt-Caravan presented the new compact caravan Next 381 with two bunk beds. The price starts at 19,990 euros, and a fully equipped version costs 22,868 euros. The caravan has a permissible total weight of 1,000 kg, a length of 5.88 m, and a height of 2.59 m. Standard equipment includes a gas hob, a 90-litre refrigerator, a toilet with fresh-water flush, and a 25-litre fresh-water tank.

Malibu Reisemobile, part of the Carthago group, has introduced a line of semi-integrated motorhomes measuring 6.69–7.35 m in length and 2.27 m in width. The models are available on Fiat Ducato and Mercedes Sprinter chassis, with 16 variants in total. Standard equipment includes a double floor, AL-KO frame, Truma Combi 6E heating, electric step, and more. The Malibu T 480 RB-QB 'K' model on a Mercedes Sprinter with a 170 hp engine and automatic transmission features a lightweight construction and high payload. Sales in Poland are handled by dealer WN-Camp Centrum Caravaningu.

At the Caravan Salon 2026, the Rhön Camp The Core camper based on the Mercedes Sprinter with a length of 5.93 m was presented. It offers five sleeping places, a kitchen, and a toilet. The base version starts at 149,990 euros, while the version with increased gross weight starts at 159,990 euros.
