German manufacturer Knaus has presented its 2027 motorhome collection, expanding its partnership with Volkswagen. Two new ranges, Sky TI and Van TI, are built on the VW Crafter chassis. For the French market the line-up includes the Sky TI 700 DEG profile with twin beds and the Van TI 640 MEG with a front lounge facing the road. Four L!VE TI models and five L!VE Wave models in Platinium Selection trim are offered on the Fiat Ducato chassis. The L!ve I integrated models have been dropped from the French catalogue. The BoxTime 600 ME van, 5.99 m long with twin beds, is available from €70,992.

German manufacturer Knaus has renewed its motorhome and caravan range, focusing on Volkswagen Crafter chassis and technical solutions for all-season use. The semi-integrated Knaus Sky TI 650 MEG on a VW Crafter chassis with a 140 hp engine and automatic gearbox measures 7 metres and has rear twin beds. Standard equipment includes a double heated floor, a lithium battery and a Truma Combi 6 heater, with an Alde system available as an option. The starting price for this model exceeds 100,000 euros. The twin-axle Knaus Norwind 660 UDF caravan, 865 cm long overall, is designed for cold climates and has Alde liquid heating with underfloor heating. Its base price starts at 53,000 euros.

Motorhome and caravan importer Bergholm Fritidsfordon reported a 6.8% rise in third-quarter 2026 revenue to SEK 124.1 million from SEK 116.2 million a year earlier. Operating profit fell to SEK 1.0 million from SEK 3.5 million, with an operating margin of 0.8% versus 3.0%. Chief executive Lars Bergholm said the Norway launch cut quarterly operating profit by about SEK 2.5 million, mainly through marketing and dealer network development. The company signed a five-year agreement with Knaus Tabbert for the Norwegian market and sees growing interest in motorhomes and caravans ahead of next season. Cash flow from operating activities rose to SEK 32.6 million from SEK 25.3 million.

German manufacturer Knaus has presented the Nordwind 660 PXB caravan for the 2027 model year. The 8.65 m long (including drawbar) and 2.50 m wide trailer offers three berths, including a queen-size double bed (2.00 × 1.46 m) and a convertible bed in the lounge (2.04 × 1.07 m). Standard equipment includes an ALDE hot-water heating system with underfloor heating, a 157-litre fridge, a 45-litre fresh water tank and frost-protected waste water pipes. The declared running order mass is 1,901 kg, with a maximum permissible mass of 2,200 kg in its basic configuration (upgradable to 2,500 kg). In Germany, prices start at €49,900.

Promobil compared the all-season caravans Adria Alpina 663 HT and Knaus Nordwind 660 PXB. The models' similarity is attributed to a senior manager's move from Slovenia to Bavaria and the Alpina's strong test results. Both caravans feature Alde C 3020 water heating and underfloor heating, but differ in body construction: the Nordwind uses aluminium, polystyrene and wooden battens, while the Alpina uses GRP, XPS and PU profiles. The Alpina's base price is 48,190 euros, the Nordwind's is 49,900 euros. Adria offers six floorplans, Knaus three.

German manufacturer Hobby presented its new Aura brand for the UK market at the Motorhome and Caravan Show in Birmingham. The brand will offer caravans, camper vans and motorhomes tailored to British buyers' layout and equipment preferences. Production of the existing Aura camper vans moves to the Fockbek factory. The Hobby name will largely disappear from UK showrooms, with only Beachy caravans remaining under it. Aura is developed and sold in partnership with Mike Lake, former UK representative for Knaus. The brand is currently UK-only, with no announced plans for other European markets.

Knaus has added a second layout to its Nordwind range, the 660 UDF. The 8.65-metre twin-axle caravan has a full-width lounge at the front and a smaller dinette in the middle. A French longitudinal bed up to 148 cm wide is fitted at the rear, and the bathroom with shower has folding doors. The kitchen includes a combined gas and induction hob and a 157-litre compressor fridge. The starting price is 52,500 euros, which is 2,600 euros more than the 660 PXB.

The Sunlight IBEX 604D has been awarded the Camper of the Year 2027 title, becoming the first motorhome to win the top distinction since its establishment in 2008. Built on a Volkswagen Crafter chassis, the four-wheel-drive model features a 163 hp engine and automatic transmission; its length is just under 6 metres, maximum permissible weight is below 3.5 tonnes, allowing driving with a category B licence. The concept was unveiled in summer 2025 and series production began in May 2026, with prices starting at 111,990 euros. The IBEX 604D beat the Knaus Sky TI, Westfalia Nansen, Dethleffs Just Van and Pilote Galaxy in the final.

Icelandic retailer Útilegumaðurinn, which specialises in camping equipment, has begun selling cars for the first time during the winter season. The company offers a 25% discount on sales commission until 1 November. It also plans to increase its motorhome offering and will premiere the Knaus Nordwind model next year.

The Caravan Salon Austria in Wels welcomed 46,235 visitors from 14 to 18 October 2026. The fair had more than 20% more exhibitors than the previous year.

German manufacturer Knaus Tabbert has introduced the compact Weinsberg CaraTour 600 ME camper van based on the Fiat Ducato 8. The vehicle, measuring 599 cm long and 205 cm wide, offers a pop-up roof, shower and toilet, two beds in the rear, a large rear garage, bicycle transport and a kitchen unit with a relatively generous work surface. The test vehicle price is 72,348 euros. Testing revealed good handling and stability on the road, but noted the absence of a reversing camera as standard, limited space at the dinette and noise from electronics under the bed during charging.

Aguti is recalling Isofix child seat mounts due to potentially faulty welds. The recall affects seats in campervans and motorhomes from various manufacturers, including Knaus and Hymer. Owners are advised not to use the Isofix mounts until inspected.

Knaus has unveiled the Van TI Plus for the 2027 season. The FoldXpand rear construction increases interior width by three centimetres, allowing the installation of a swivel bathroom and a new interior design. The model is available in two layouts: 650 MEG with a length of 6.99 m and 700 DEG with a length of 7.47 m. The base price is 89,900 euros, the 4MOTION all-wheel drive option costs 5,470 euros, the Van TI Plus package is 1,450 euros, and the Premium package is 8,690 euros. With automatic transmission, awning, alloy wheels and tinting, the price reaches 100,040 euros.

Knaus has announced a new caravan range, the Nordwind, designed for use in cold weather. The model features a standard ALDE water heating system, an underfloor heating circuit and a double heated floor. Exterior walls have increased insulation, and grey water pipes run inside the structure; an optional 40-litre grey water tank is available. The interior includes textile wall coverings, warm tones, windows with aluminium frames and pleated blinds, a compressor fridge with two-way door opening, and a combined gas and induction hob. A FoldXpand rear section increases interior space without extending the overall length. Three layouts are offered: the 550 UE with single beds and a U-shaped lounge, the 650 UDF with a French bed, and the 660 PXB with an island queen bed and lounge area. Depending on the layout, the caravan provides two to five berths. A metallic silver colour is available as an option.

German publication Promobil has published an overview of five narrow semi-integrated motorhomes (TI vans) for couples. The Giottiline CX 64 and CX 69, Dethleffs Just Van T5, Weinsberg Pepper 580 MEG, Etrusco V 6.8 SCF and Knaus Van TI Plus measure between 2.14 and 2.20 m in width, 6.38 to 7.47 m in length, and have a gross vehicle weight of 3.5 t. Prices: Giottiline from 58,700 euros, Dethleffs 64,999 euros, Weinsberg from 66,990 euros, Etrusco from 59,499 euros, Knaus from 89,900 euros. They are based on Fiat Ducato, Ford Transit or VW Crafter. The Knaus Van TI Plus gets a new interior and swivel bathroom for the 2027 season.

The Lume Ranger wins Caravan of the Year, while the Sunlight IBEX 4x4 takes Camper of the Year. The jury, chaired by Leo Diepemaat, judged innovation and ease of use.

Knaus unveiled the SKY TI VW 700 DEG semi-integrated motorhome on a Volkswagen Crafter chassis at the Lahti Caravan 2026 show. The 7.59-metre model features a standard Alde diesel heater and hydronic floor heating, reducing reliance on gas cylinders. A heated double floor protects water and heating pipes and provides storage. The base price is €136,521, with the show vehicle priced at €142,167.

A black Knaus R07 with registration TÜ SQ 56 was stolen in Unterjesingen over the weekend of 12–13 September 2026. Tübingen police are asking for information.

CARAVANING has compiled a list of seven tandem-axle caravans aimed at couples. Single-axle models are typically limited to around eight metres in length and two tonnes gross weight; tandem axles allow lengths over nine metres and gross weights from 2.5 tonnes.
