UKATEX, a family-run company from Weiden (Upper Palatinate), produces custom-fit seat covers for cars, trucks, and motorhomes. The range includes over 100 designs in materials such as leatherette, Alcantara, and others, compatible with side airbags, seat heating, and Isofix anchors. Covers are available for base vehicles like Fiat Ducato, Mercedes Sprinter, VW Crafter, and for motorhomes from brands including Adria, Hymer, Knaus, and Bürstner.

Electric cars and caravans are getting closer

Manufacturers of electric vehicles and caravans are adapting to each other. Modern EVs like the VW ID Polo (towing up to 1200 kg) and BMW iX (up to 2.5 t) come with tow bars. Caravans are becoming lighter and more aerodynamic: for example, the Knaus Yaseo (from 913 kg) or Adria Avia Lite (660 kg). However, towing reduces range by about half, and charging requires uncoupling the trailer at many stations.

Ten campers with pop-up roofs for families

Auto Zeitung has compiled a list of ten camper vans with pop-up roofs that combine maneuverability with sleeping capacity for up to four people. The ranking includes models such as Adria Twin Sports, Clever Vans Aventuro 600, Corigon CV 60 D, Eriba Car, Hobby Ontour Van, Karmann Davis 595 Trendstyle, Knaus Boxtime, Kompanja Zwei, Rocket Base, and Van Tourer 540 D. Prices range from €55,499 to €98,999, with the pop-up roof option costing between €5,990 and €7,199.

Weinsberg CaraCore motorhome on Fiat Ducato base: price and specs

German manufacturer Weinsberg (Knaus Tabbert Group) introduced the CaraCore line of motorhomes on Fiat Ducato chassis. Models range from 6999 to 7410 mm in length, 2320 mm wide, 2790 mm high, accommodating up to 5 passengers. The base version features a 140 hp diesel engine with 6-speed manual; a 160 hp option with 8-speed automatic is available. The CaraCore 700 is priced at €83,990, which is 20–40% lower than comparable models.

Knaus Tabbert Reports ‘Improved Profitability’ in Q1

European RV manufacturer Knaus Tabbert announced a significant improvement in operating profitability for the first quarter of the 2026 financial year, despite a decline in revenue. Consolidated revenue fell 15.7% to EUR 249.1 million, with sales volumes down 8.3% to 5,190 units. Adjusted EBITDA rose to EUR 15.6 million from EUR 8.5 million a year earlier, and net profit reached EUR 3.8 million compared to a loss of EUR 4.7 million. Camper van sales increased 18.7%, while motorhome sales declined.

A paid parking area for 23 motorhomes on the outskirts of Eschwege, near Lake Werratalsee. The site is located in front of a campsite, with mostly level gravel ground and no shade. The nightly rate of €15 includes two adults, children, and dogs. Extra charges apply for water (€0.75 per 60 L), electricity (€0.75 per kWh), toilet (€5), and Wi-Fi (€3 per day). Maximum stay is 3 nights, season runs from March to October.

Municipality of Wassenaar starts removal procedure for two abandoned vehicles

The municipality of Wassenaar announced administrative enforcement against an abandoned single-axle trailer without license plates, parked on Agathastraat.
