Swedish manufacturer Dovra has unveiled the RIG X-710 camper van, measuring 7.10 metres and positioned between the existing X-610 and X-750 models. It is based on a Mercedes Sprinter 4×4 with a 190 hp turbodiesel engine and a nine-speed automatic transmission. All 2027 models, including the new addition, come standard with a 1,000 Ah Victron lithium battery bank, a 3,000 W inverter and an MPPT solar charger. Payload is 1,220 kg, fresh water capacity is 105 litres and waste water capacity is 95 litres. In Germany, prices start at €273,700; in the Netherlands, VAT and BPM are added.

More than ten caravans, along with sofas and refrigerators, were left at the rallycross track in Höljes after the race weekend in early July. The organizer, Finnskoga motorklubb, is asking owners or anyone who knows them to contact the club.

A campsite in Våmhus, Mora Municipality, Dalarna region, is for sale at €539,000. The 1.51-hectare plot has 65 pitches, 48 with electricity, eight cottages, two glamping tents, a service building with eight showers and six toilets, four EV charging stations, six canoes and two SUPs. Dutch owners bought it in 2022 and modernised it. A separate house is offered nearby for €200,000.

The Swedish government has proposed a Tempo-100 reform to allow towing caravans and trailers at 100 km/h, but with a restriction: the trailer's total weight must not exceed 0.8 times the car's kerb weight. Sweden has 290,000 caravans and 1.1 million registered trailers, currently limited to 80 km/h. The Caravan Industry Association (HRF) says the 0.8 rule would exclude most standard caravans weighing 1500–2000 kg and demands the proposal be withdrawn. According to HRF calculations, many common tow cars could only handle caravans around 1300–1500 kg.

In September 2026, Sweden registered 318 new motorhomes, up from 301 a year earlier. Caravan registrations fell to 72 units from 112.

The County Administrative Board has revoked Norrtälje Municipality's temporary building permit for 25 motorhome pitches on a vacant lot near the bus square. The board found the municipality did not sufficiently justify the temporary nature of the pitches. Other planned motorhome pitches in Oxhalsö, Finsta and Älmsta will be completed for the next motorhome season.

A 35-year-old man has been charged with stealing a motorhome in Hudiksvall, crashing it into a lamppost and fleeing the scene. The incident occurred in late May; the man's DNA was found on a milk carton left in the vehicle. He denies the crime.

A resident of Askersund has submitted a citizen proposal to split the parking area at Haga beach to limit parking for motorhomes and caravans. The issue arose after the original ramp in Askersund's harbour was closed for commercial camping, redirecting boat owners to Haga, but the area was occupied by heavy recreational vehicles.

A motorhome caught fire on Industrivägen in Jokkmokk at around 22:00 on Sunday. Two rescue units were dispatched, and the vehicle was fully engulfed in flames. No injuries were reported, and the operation was expected to be completed by 23:00.

In the first eight months of 2026, 4,834 motorhomes were registered in Sweden, up 50.4% from the same period in 2025. Caravan registrations fell 4.6% to 1,067 units.

Finspång municipality is investing five million Swedish kronor in the renovation of Grosvad campsite, which has been closed since 2023. The building committee has approved a detailed development plan, allowing work to proceed. The service building at the site has been repeatedly vandalised.

According to a 2026 HRF survey, 65% of Swedes aged 18–29 would consider a motorhome holiday and 43% a caravan holiday. Renting or borrowing allows people to try the lifestyle without buying a vehicle. At Rent and Travel, a one-week motorhome rental in high season for four people costs about 17,000 Swedish kronor; in high season rentals are weekly, while shorter weekend trips are available at other times. A family from Jönköping took three trips with a borrowed caravan and plans to continue.

The Swedish-made Kabe Brilliant 470 XL caravan is rated for temperatures from −35° to +35° and has a maximum mass of 1700 kg, requiring a BE driving licence for towing. It offers four berths, a French bed measuring 1.4 by 1.95 metres, a dining area with a convertible table, a kitchen with three gas burners and a 122-litre fridge, plus a heated compartment for drying skis and wet gear. The new caravan is priced at 8,100,000 rubles.

A motorhome owner has complained about the cost of parking at the new motorhome stopover in Skillinge, Simrishamn Municipality. In late August he emailed the municipality, calling the 410 kronor fee too expensive and noting that the site is still under construction.

In Sweden, a motorhome became stuck under a viaduct, causing a complete traffic stop. The vehicle had to be towed away.

Kabe has unveiled the fully integrated Imperial Traq i830 motorhome based on a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter chassis with rear twin wheels and optional four-wheel drive. The model measures 8.32 m long, 2.33 m wide and 3.07 m high. The permissible total weight is 5.5 tonnes, payload 830 kg, towing capacity 1,980 kg and gross combination weight up to 7 tonnes. Power comes from a 190 hp turbodiesel engine paired with an automatic transmission. Two layouts are available: LGB with two single beds and a drop-down bed, and LQB with a central double bed; both can sleep up to six. Equipment includes two 150 Ah lithium batteries, a solar panel, an inverter and the Smart-D 2.0 system with touchscreen. An optional off-road package adds a roof rack, auxiliary lights and matte black alloy wheels. Pricing has not been announced.

On the afternoon of 19 September 2026, a car towing a caravan went off the road into a ditch in Stugun, Ragunda Municipality. The alarm was raised at 16:42. Rescue services and a tow truck were called to the scene; the vehicle required recovery.

At 22:54, emergency services were alerted to a fire in a caravan at a parking lot near Building C on the university campus in Linköping. The fire spread to a tree, and a nearby car was also damaged. Firefighters extinguished the blaze.

Swedish company Kabe presented the Imperial TRAQ i830 in Germany — the first integrated motorhome based on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter with an optional Torque on Demand all-wheel-drive system. The Sprinter chassis with a 190 hp engine has rear-wheel drive with dual wheels, a gross vehicle weight of 5,500 kg and a gross combined weight of 7 t. Length is 8.32 m. The all-wheel-drive system uses a multi-disc clutch to automatically distribute torque between axles, reaching 50% to each in critical situations. A double floor houses a 200-litre fresh water tank and a 102-litre grey water tank (heated). The kitchen combines two gas burners and an induction cooktop. Prices start at about R$ 1.54 million (259,000 euros) without the all-wheel-drive option. The model is not sold in Brazil.

A campsite in the Pite River Valley has been declared bankrupt immediately after the summer season. The owner faces charges of two counts of gross accounting fraud and one count of standard accounting fraud. According to the Economic Crime Authority, the campsite handled approximately 4.4 million kronor in payments and 4.5 million kronor in disbursements without proper accounting. Prosecutor Niklas Jeppsson stated the crime should be considered gross due to the significant amounts involved. The Tax Agency maintains its bankruptcy petition despite the owner's opposition, who claims the campsite is for sale and debts can be repaid. The campsite's request to postpone debt payments was rejected; according to the Tax Agency, it has no seizable assets. The Economic Crime Authority seeks a business ban and a 500,000 kronor corporate fine. The owner denies the charges.
