In Treysa, Germany, unknown perpetrators broke into a Bürstner motorhome parked on a private property. They pried open a window and stole two wallets, identity documents, keys, and headphones. Damage to the motorhome is estimated at around 300 euros. Police have launched an investigation.
German manufacturer Bürstner has unveiled the Habiton 2026, based on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. The camper van is under 6 meters long. Its key feature is a patented sliding bathroom that frees up living space during the day and returns to its original position at night to allow full deployment of the beds. The interior includes two separate beds, a semi-dinette, and a kitchen. An optional pop-up roof is available. Base price starts at €74,999.
A queen bed accessible from three sides offers enhanced comfort for couples but is typically found in more expensive models. With a budget of up to €35,000, 11 caravans from Bürstner, Caravelair, Dethleffs, Hobby, LMC, and Sterckeman are available. Eight models cost under €30,000, while entry-level versions from Caravelair and Sterckeman start below €20,000.
UKATEX, a family-run company from Weiden (Upper Palatinate), produces custom-fit seat covers for cars, trucks, and motorhomes. The range includes over 100 designs in materials such as leatherette, Alcantara, and others, compatible with side airbags, seat heating, and Isofix anchors. Covers are available for base vehicles like Fiat Ducato, Mercedes Sprinter, VW Crafter, and for motorhomes from brands including Adria, Hymer, Knaus, and Bürstner.
Bürstner has introduced the B66-690TD, a 6.99 m profiled motorhome built on a Fiat Ducato chassis. It features a Thermo-Floor with frost-protected pipes and tanks, and a completely flat surface. The interior includes an L-shaped dinette, a kitchen with extendable worktop, a bathroom, and a rear bedroom with twin beds. Price starts at €78,590.
Six motorhomes with overcab beds suitable for families have been presented. The list includes Adria Coral XL Plus 660 SL, Elnagh Baron 22, Etrusco A 7300 DB, Eura Mobil Activa One 690 HB, plus specialized models BluCamp Sky Free for reduced mobility and Bürstner Lyseo Gallery TD with an inflatable overcab. Overcab motorhomes maintain an advantage in space division: separate sleeping areas and a permanently usable living area.
Bürstner is undergoing a radical model lineup overhaul, replacing all previous series with completely new developments step by step. During this transition, the company continues to offer popular models under the B66 badge with extensive equipment. The tested model is a partially integrated motorhome 732 with a rear queen bed, also available as the 690 with twin beds and an optional drop-down bed.
After almost 70 years, Bürstner has stopped making caravans — and nobody was particularly surprised once sales had fallen by a third. Caravan manufacturer Bürstner, part of the Hymer Group, has ceased production. This development fuels speculation about potential new opportunities for the LMC plant in Sassenberg, which had announced layoffs last November.
Following the cessation of caravan production by Bürstner, LMC, also part of the Hymer Group, may attract new dealers and utilize its Sassenberg plant capacity. In November 2025, LMC announced plans to lay off employees, but the market redistribution could now alter the outlook.

German manufacturer Bürstner has announced it will cease production of caravans as of January 1, 2027. The company, which has been building towable caravans since 1958, will shift focus entirely to motorhomes and campervans. The decision is driven by a sustained decline in demand for caravans and the growing popularity of self-propelled models. Bürstner will continue to supply spare parts and service for existing caravans.
German manufacturer Bürstner will completely cease production of caravans by 2027 due to declining demand. In 2025, only 18,766 new caravans were registered in Europe, a 13.4% drop from the previous year. The company will focus on motorhomes and camper vans.
Following Bürstner's announcement to stop producing caravans (towable trailers), questions arose about Dethleffs' plans. A company spokesperson stated that Dethleffs will not only continue but strengthen its caravan segment. In 2024, the Isny plant produced about 3,000 caravans. At the CMT fair in Stuttgart, the folding c.fold model, designed for electric vehicles, was showcased but will not enter series production.
Managing director Halvor Barikmo leads three employees and a fourth person in taking over the business and establishing Kristiansand Caravan og Fritid AS. The new dealer will represent Adria, Sun Living, Kabe and Kabe Affinity, while Bürstner, Hymer and Carado will no longer be sold as new from these premises. All 13 employees transfer to the new company, which will also serve as a service point for previously sold brands.
Bürstner has introduced the Premio Plus 520TL caravan, designed for families. The model measures 232 cm in width and has a maximum laden mass of 15 quintals, featuring an AL-KO chassis with stabilizer and automatic braking adjustment. Its key feature is a modular interior: a rear dinette, two single beds at the front, and an optional drop-down bed over the living area, accommodating up to six people. Standard equipment includes a kitchen with three burners, sink, and large refrigerator, plus a toilet compartment with shower capability.
German manufacturer Bürstner has introduced the Premio Plus 510 TK caravan, designed for families and large groups. The model features seven berths in two separate areas and a drop-down double bed. Installing the bed required reinforcing the body and increasing height by 10 cm. The caravan comes standard with an AKS stabilizer and self-adjusting brakes.
