Sales figures for motorhomes and caravans through February 2026
The BOVAG association has released sales data for new and used caravans and motorhomes as of February 2026. The figures are available for download, but exclusively for members. The data was last updated on March 2, 2026.
From 2026, you can drive this unique BMW camper tax-free - Autovisie
Starting in 2026, motorhome road tax in the Netherlands will increase significantly, except for vehicles over 40 years old. The Vixen 21TD camper, built from 1986 to 1989 with a BMW diesel engine, will qualify for tax exemption next year. Fewer than 600 units were produced, and current examples are listed for around €50,000.
Electric tow cars for caravans held back by charging station design
An ACSI survey shows only 1.8% of Dutch caravan owners use an electric vehicle for towing. Key barriers are limited range (75% of respondents), high purchase price (44%), and inconvenient charging stations where detaching the trailer is often required.
