Romanian Highway Code Changes: What Vehicles Can Be Driven with a Category B License

New EU regulations allow Romanian drivers with a standard category B license to operate heavier vehicles under specific conditions. Motorhome catches fire on Romania's A2 motorway

A motorhome caught fire on the A2 Bucharest–Constanta motorway at kilometre 47 near Sarulesti, Calarasi County, while parked on the emergency lane. According to the INFOTRAFIC centre of the Romanian General Police Inspectorate, the incident caused only material damage. Traffic towards Bucharest is restricted, with the emergency lane and first lane closed and vehicles using the second lane. Normal traffic flow is expected to resume after 17:00.

Bucharest man sells apartment, converts van into mobile home with father

A Bucharest resident named Ionuț sold his apartment and, with his father, converted a Fiat Ducato van into a mobile home for full-time living. The project took about a year and cost approximately 31,000 euros. The interior includes a bed, kitchen with induction hob and espresso machine, composting toilet, and shower. The van is officially registered as a motorhome.
