Maramureș County 92A couple traveling Europe in a motorhome spent 16 days in Romania, their 24th country. They noted the diverse landscape, including mountains and forests, and the presence of historic castles and fortified churches in Transylvania. Card payments are common in cities, but cash (Romanian lei or euros) may be needed in rural areas.
A motorhome caught fire on the A2 Bucharest–Constanta motorway at kilometre 47 near Sarulesti, Calarasi County, while parked on the emergency lane. According to the INFOTRAFIC centre of the Romanian General Police Inspectorate, the incident caused only material damage. Traffic towards Bucharest is restricted, with the emergency lane and first lane closed and vehicles using the second lane. Normal traffic flow is expected to resume after 17:00.
In the Romanian village of Vadu, located in the Danube Delta, a week-long stay with a motorhome or caravan rental costs between 2,500 and 6,200 lei. The total includes rental (1,400–5,800 lei), camping fees (490–840 lei), and ARBDD permits (85–155 lei).
A Bucharest resident named Ionuț sold his apartment and, with his father, converted a Fiat Ducato van into a mobile home for full-time living. The project took about a year and cost approximately 31,000 euros. The interior includes a bed, kitchen with induction hob and espresso machine, composting toilet, and shower. The van is officially registered as a motorhome.
On August 14 at 12:52, the Lipova volunteer fire service was called to a caravan fire between Șoimoș and Milova. Two fire engines and eight volunteer firefighters, along with a unit from Bârzava, responded. The fire was contained and extinguished; no injuries were reported and material damage was minor.
The Dacia Jogger 2026 is available on Carwow from €16,710 or from €391 per month on lease.
