Camping Puchner in Feldkirchen, Austria, is gaining attention through a social media video made by the owner's son-in-law. The site, operating for about 25 years, offers 100 pitches, including 50 for seasonal campers and 30 for caravans and motorhomes. Guests mainly come from the region and Germany, as well as Australia, France, Canada, and Israel. Demand for camping has increased since the COVID-19 pandemic.

Carinthia remains popular camping destination

In July 2026, Carinthia recorded 2.6 million overnight stays, up four percentage points compared to July 2025. In the first half of the year, the region ranked second among Austrian federal states in camping overnight stays (about 655,000), behind Tyrol. Operators report an increase in new guests, including from Denmark, Czech Republic, Poland, and surprisingly from the UK and Ireland. Starting in November, a local tax of four euros per person per night will be introduced, causing some concern among campsite operators.
