TV host Stefan Mross used a break in filming of the show "Immer wieder sonntags" to travel to Spain, where he observed the total solar eclipse on August 12. He is traveling in a Morelo Grand Empire 100 GO 2024 motorhome based on a Mercedes-Benz Actros 1853 L with a turbo diesel engine producing 390 kW (530 hp). The 10.45-meter-long, 2.55-meter-wide, and 3.86-meter-high vehicle features two sleeping places, a separate shower and toilet, a 196-liter refrigerator, and a 410-liter water tank. The show "Immer wieder sonntags" will not air on August 16 due to sports broadcasts but will return on August 23; after the current season, the program will be discontinued.
Ahead of the Caravan Salon, Franconian motorhome manufacturers, particularly Morelo in Schlüsselfeld, are increasing output. Demand for luxury vehicles remains high.

Manufacturer RAVATHERM has introduced XPS (extruded polystyrene foam) as a core material for sandwich construction in walls, floors and roofs of caravans and motorhomes. The material features low water absorption, light weight and thermal insulation. XPS is up to 100 % recyclable. It is currently used by manufacturers including Morelo, Niesmann+Bischoff, Concorde, Pilot and Carthago.

Knaus Tabbert has unveiled the Morelo Empire Liner, priced from €460,000. Available in six versions from 9.65 to 11.99 metres, one variant can transport a small car like a MINI.
For the summer season, manufacturers have introduced premium motorhomes with improved mechanics and design. Models such as the Niesmann+Bischoff iSmove (from €123,000), Hymer B-ML I BlackLine (from €181,815), Morelo Palace (from €285,900), and Adria Supersonic (from €161,149) feature kitchens, king-size bedrooms, smart home systems, and lithium batteries.
Morelo, the premium subsidiary of Knaus Tabbert, has introduced the Empire Liner motorhome. The model, ranging from 9.65 to 11.99 meters in length, features a garage for a small car up to 157 cm high and 210 cm wide. Prices start at €460,900. A class C driver's license is required to operate it.
