Sandra Patricia, known on TikTok as @sandra_patricia6830, said she pays €297 per month for a pitch at a campsite on the Costa Blanca where her caravan is permanently installed. According to her, the price remains the same year-round and does not increase even in high season. The fee includes access to a swimming pool, tennis court, 24-hour security and gardening services. Sandra spends about ten days a month at the campsite, another ten days with family in northern Spain, and the rest travelling while the caravan stays on site.
A fire broke out in a parked motorhome on Calle Deva in Salinas, Asturias, on 23 September 2026. Firefighters brought the flames under control within minutes; no injuries were reported. The Guardia Civil is investigating the cause. A similar incident occurred on 5 August 2026 near the Arnao tunnel entrance, where a car caught fire spontaneously.
Camper homologation in Spain should start before installing components. In August 2026, 356 new motorhomes were registered (+14.1%), and the secondary market grew 16.2%.

The municipality of Sopela in Biscay has adopted an ordinance recognising the right of motorhomes, campervans and caravans to park throughout the town under the same conditions as other vehicles. During high season (July–August) and Easter, up to 30 spaces are reserved for motorhomes at the Urko car park, with 11 spaces the rest of the year; continuous parking is limited to 72 hours per week. The ordinance also prohibits deploying awnings, placing furniture outside and cooking outdoors, while the Urko car park provides grey and black water disposal points, drinking water filling and recycling bins.

The municipality of Berastegi has approved an ordinance regulating motorhome parking at the church square. The maximum stay is two nights per week, consecutive or not; the count starts at 7:30 a.m. on the day of arrival and ends at 8:00 p.m. on the third day. Exceeding this limit without prior authorisation carries a fine and forced towing of the vehicle.
The municipality of Llanes in Asturias issued more than 360 fines to owners of motorhomes and camper vans over the summer of 2025. About 20 fines were issued in June, 60 in July and 260 in August; local police conducted night patrols. Mayor Enrique Riestra said the measures aim to protect beaches such as Cué and Cuevas del Mar, not to raise revenue. Fines were issued for wild camping and overnight stays in vehicles; putting out chairs, tables or awnings, or hanging clothes on mirrors, incurs a 500 euro fine. Violations in a natural park carry a 3000 euro fine. Most fines have been appealed.

According to rental platform CamperDays, between 1 June and 31 August 2025, the UK accounted for 23% of motorhome bookings by Spanish travellers, followed by Australia at 17% and Canada at 15%. Edinburgh led bookings in the UK, Cairns in Australia and Calgary in Canada. The company attributes the trend to multi-stage itineraries and demand for cooler climates.
Ecofener has expanded its catalogue with two U-Power lithium batteries designed for caravans, campers and converted vans. The UE-12Li200BA Bluetooth and UE-12Li320BA Bluetooth models offer capacities of 200 Ah and 320 Ah, operate at 12.8 V and include Bluetooth connectivity for monitoring battery parameters via a smartphone app. Their compact design allows installation under a seat, optimising space in vehicles. Both batteries are now available through Ecofener's online store.

The municipality of Poza de la Sal has completed a new motorhome area with 22 pitches. The investment exceeded 35,000 euros. Use will be free for the first month, after which the rate will be around 2–3 euros per day. The site includes electric hook-ups, an electronic barrier, a stainless steel drain for waste water, a drinking water tap and a cleaning point for caravans. Plans include building changing rooms near the sports area. The new area joins existing ones in Espinosa de los Monteros, Oña, Briviesca, Frías, Medina de Pomar and Santelices.
Javier, a 67-year-old former truck driver, lives in a five-square-metre motorhome because his monthly pension of 500 euros does not cover conventional rent. After a stroke left him partially paralysed, he retired early without the minimum contribution period for a higher pension. His previous rent was 670 euros per month. He sold belongings and borrowed money to buy the motorhome. In winter he sleeps dressed, eats one meal a day and cannot afford a new 300-euro television. Javier links his situation to Spain's housing crisis, which he says also affects younger generations.
The municipality of Oseja de Sajambre has put out to tender the construction of a new motorhome area in the urban space known as La Cortina, next to the Casa del Parque. The investment amounts to €324,000. Works are scheduled for 19 September 2026. The aim is to boost tourism on the Leonese side of Picos de Europa.

The Ciutadella town council on Menorca has introduced a fee of 4 euros per 100 litres of water for motorhomes refilling at the designated point in the industrial estate. The measure follows detected "uncontrolled" use of the tap. Mayor Maria Jesús Bagur announced this at Thursday's plenary session, stating that a public price of 4 euros per 100 litres is already in place.
