US company Papago Vans has presented a converted four-wheel-drive Ford Transit that keeps a fixed bed while making the shower foldable. The base vehicle is an extended-wheelbase Transit with a 3,759 mm wheelbase. It is fitted with Black Rhino wheels, all-terrain tyres, Van Compass Stage 3 suspension, protective skid plates and ladders for roof rack access. The roof carries two 200 W solar panels, an awning, lighting, a vent fan and an air conditioner. Inside, there is no fixed wall between the cab and living area; the front seats swivel and a two-person bench converts into a small bed. The kitchen has a deep sink, filtered tap, fridge with freezer compartment and a 700 W microwave. Power comes from a 920 Ah lithium battery and a 3,000 W inverter-charger with three charging paths. A 125 L fresh water tank supplies water. The fold-away shower uses an aluminium tray and ceiling curtain, freeing the aisle when not in use. The conversion price has not been disclosed.
